Brut

“Brut” is an abstract series of wall mounted plywood sculptures inspired by Outsider art.

It was love at first site when I encountered Outsider art as a student, in the “Collection de l'Art Brut” a museum in Lausanne Switzerland dedicated to outsider art. I was and still am fascinated with the rawness of the art and the fact that the artists behind it are self thaught, which I find extremely inspiring.

I would not include my work in the tradition of Outsider art, but I identify with the self thaught side of it. As I like to explore materials without having priar knowledge or guidance.

for this series I applied what I like the most from outsider art, which is the raw quality of the art.
