Abstraction

“Abstraction” is an abstract series of wall mounted plywood sculptures. In this series I wanted to embrace the abstract and let the material speak for itslelf.

The results were shaped by the breaking of plywood layers: breaking the wood layers instead of carving them resulted in unpredictible patterns.

Through this technique the mix of colours present in the wood are revealed and blendend together, which created interesting patterns and colours.
