Using that knowledge I create sculptures, going as far as my imagination takes me. I start with a simple experiment and use the results to guide my work and further explorations.
Current Material: Plywood; It’s used in furniture, packaging and in the construction industry due to it’s versatility, durability, ease to work with and low cost. It is a fascinating material with many possibilities to explore.
What’s the point: Materials are not infinite ressources and they come at a cost such as; the destruction of ecosystems, the creation of waste that can’t be recycled, as well as adding carbon and other pollutants to the atmosphere.
Through my art and my unconventional usage of materials I want to bring attention to how materials are manufactered and the costs associated to them. In order to encourage their responsible use and emphasize the importance of designing materials to be easily recyclable.
